I have a MASSIVE amount of fonts on my computer. Well over 1,000. And all of the fonts come with a commercial license.
What is a commercial license? It’s a license that grants you permission to use an object in a product that you intend to sell. Before I download or purchase a font, I always make sure it includes a commercial license so I don’t have to worry about keeping track of whether or not each font has a license.
Commercial fonts can get expensive, but they’re required if you ever want to use the font in any sort of product that you intend to sell. However, you can build a great font collection on a budget!

Free Fonts
DaFont
DaFont is a slippery slope if you’re wanting to download fonts that you can sell. I have a love/hate relationship with DaFont (though it’s mostly love). You have to be careful on DaFont for a few reasons. One reason is that most fonts are strictly free for personal use, with the option to purchase for commercial use. Also, a lot of the fonts a demo fonts. Demo fonts typically only contain letters, and no symbols or numbers. Demo fonts are typically only available for personal use.
If you’re looking specifically for free commercial use fonts, you can always weed out all of the demo and personal use only fonts in your search! When you’re browsing, you’ll see an area above the fonts where you can type a word to preview, select the number of fonts that you see per page, sort the fonts, etc. — click on “more details” next to the submit button, then check the box that says 100% free, then click submit! 100% free means free for commercial and personal use.
Font Squirrel
Font Squirrel is great because every single font on the website is 100% free. However, the variety is nowhere near as vast as what’s available on DaFont… but they have some really great options for serif and sans-serif fonts!
Paid Fonts
Now I’m going to share a few of websites with you guys that I LOVE. All of the fonts on these websites are paid fonts, however, they all come with a commercial license — AND you can get some great deals on these websites!
TheHungryJPEG
TheHungryJPEG offers a huge variety of fonts (and other digital goods) that come with commercial use! While there are tons of amazing fonts on TheHungryJPEG in the typical $12-$20 price range, there are several ways to get some AWESOME fonts on a limited budget.
First, they have bundles. They offer several bundles per month, and a lot of their bundles offer several fonts! Click the image below to view the bundles that are currently available on TheHungryJPEG.
Next, you can search for bundles offered by independent sellers! Simply type “font bundle” in the search bar.
Finally, they have $1 deals. This is a section of the website where they offer fonts and other digital goods for just $1, AND they all include a commercial license. The $1 deals change every month, but there are DOZENS of pages of deals every month. $1 deals are AMAZING. You could build an entire library strictly from the $1 deal section. Creative Market
Creative Market is awesome. It was my introduction to the digital goods world! Similar to TheHungryJPEG, Creative Market offers a wide variety of digital goods… including fonts! Most fonts on their website are in the $12-$20 price range, but they do have options for anyone on a limited budget as well!
First, they have Free Goods. They offer 6 free goods a week. Each set is offered for free from 12 AM Monday through 11:59 PM Sunday every single week. These free goods aren’t always fonts, but I have snatched up SEVERAL awesome fonts by checking the Free Goods section of their website every week. Here are the free goods that are currently being offered on Creative Market:
